For me, becoming a nurse was more of a calling to be of service by helping individuals heal and stay well. I started in the ER and later worked with surgical, oncology, orthopedic, acute rehab and COVID patients. I was a nursing director for 14 of my 27-year career which has been very fulfilling.
Several years ago, I became interested in a more holistic approach, recognizing that all parts of the whole are interconnected and by integrating different modalities that are evidence based to improve health. Acknowledging that my busy, stressful life had led to some unhealthy lifestyle habits, I found that I began to feel better after making several small changes. My focus shifted away from fixing what is broken to living the best life even in the presence of stress and health issues. My philosophy is finding a balance of enjoying life and cultivating a lifestyle of healthy habits that enhance overall wellbeing.
As a Board-Certified Integrative Nurse Coach, I work with individuals who want to adopt a healthier lifestyle by providing support, guidance, expertise, and advocacy. I don't fix people by telling them what they need to do. In a collaborative partnership we explore ways to make meaningful choices one small step at a time. I provide tools that allow one to take control of their health and wellbeing. Clients are empowered to lead the decisions about goals and strategies to meet them. We focus on establishing sustainable, healthy habits to benefit mind, body and heart.
