My nearly 30-year nursing career has been very rewarding. For 14 of those yeas, I served as a nursing director. However, during the last 2 years in that position, I personally experienced the effects of burnout and witnessed it in many of my colleagues as well.
As I became more interested in a more holistic approach to my own health and stress, I learned to integrate evidence-based modalities including breathwork, meditation, restorative yoga and most importantly self-reflection. The journey to a better balanced life helped me find my authentic purpose, to serve others struggling with burnout and caregiver fatigue.
